Boxwood Lounge

Boxwood Lounge to Open in Salamanca This April

A new addition to Hobart’s hospitality and cultural scene will arrive this April with the opening of Boxwood Lounge, a refined wine and piano bar located in the historic Salamanca precinct.

Designed as an intimate evening venue, Boxwood Lounge will combine curated wines, live piano performances and relaxed hospitality in a setting that encourages conversation and atmosphere rather than volume. The lounge will offer a distinctive alternative to traditional bars—focusing on music, ambience and carefully selected wines. Surprisingly, there isn’t much offered in Hobart for this type of experience.

During the day, the space will take on a different character as it partners with TAG Art Gallery, creating a rotating exhibition space showcasing contemporary artwork by Gemma Memory-Lynch! Visitors will be able to experience the gallery during daytime hours before the venue transitions into a piano and wine lounge in the evening.

The concept reflects a broader trend in hospitality toward multi-use spaces that blend culture, art and social experiences. By pairing music, art and wine within one venue, Boxwood Lounge aims to create a destination that feels both sophisticated and welcoming.

With its location in one of Hobart’s most iconic precincts, Boxwood Lounge wants to become a popular setting for private gatherings, events and evenings out when it opens in April. Seting up the Insta now!
